Going Live and Local at Lola's Saloon

Toe tapping beat keeps customers coming.

If you enjoy a beat that keeps your toe tapping, you’ll love Lola's Saloon on Fort Worth's 6th street.

“We run the gamut from the hardest metal that you’ve ever heard to cool jazz to funk to country” says bartender Graham Richardson. He’s has been slinging drinks at Lola’s since it opened in early 2008.

“As a neighborhood we always like to see a fresh face” Richardson says.

“I like the atmosphere here and definitely love the music” says saloon regular John Wayne Mathews. Turns out we‘d caught Mathews at Lola’s during his standard Wednesday plan.

“Every Wednesday night, man. This is my Wednesday night homage to the Scott Copeland Band” says Mathews.

“I love playing here. It’s my favorite bar in Fort Worth” says musician Scott Copeland. He plays at Lola’s every Wednesday night.

Copeland is appreciative that there are still places like Lola’s supporting music the way it was meant to be heard.

“It’s really starting to be a dying breed of live music goers” says Copeland. “With the internet, and people can watch stuff on YouTube nowadays, a lot of people don’t go out to live music. It’s totally a different thing and energy that you don’t get off of CD, that you do at a live show.”

All the Lola’s patrons agreed that no matter what music you like, your taste and Lola’s will be singing off the same sheet music.
