Last Minute Luxury Shopping at Hermes

Last minute luxury gifting is easy at Hermes, located in Dallas' shopping mecca, Highland Park Village. If you're still in need of a present or two, make Hermes your one-stop-shop for fashionable items for the closet or home.

"Our enamel bracelets - based on our scarf print designs - are gorgeous, colorful and timeless pieces." said Nell Langford, style expert and associate at Hermes' Dallas store. "Hermes is one of only a few fashion houses that designs and fabricates these 'it' items, and they are great for women from 18 to 80. I like them mixed and matched, and I love to see women wear them several at a time."

Priced from $485 to $660, the bracelets are expensive, but their quality and collectibility make them worth the investment.

Other things Langford adores? "I personally wear our large silk and cashmere blend shawls constantly. You can wear them as luxurious wraps with cocktail attire or pair them with jeans and t-shirts for daytime. And they are the PERFECT travel partner for the plane instead of those stinky blankets."

We couldn't agree more, and the prints and patterns to choose from are endless, so you can choose a truly personal gift from among their selection.

If you love the label but want to spend a bit less, our favorite pick is the Tout en Carre silk "twilly" scarf. Adorned with three square, silver charms that are removable from the black, gold, and pink equestrian-print scarf, it's cool and covetable for $285. Priced similarly, the leather wrap bracelets in a rainbow of colors with silver buckles are excellent choices as well.

Looking for a chic, sundry stocking-stuffer for a fashion lover? We highly recommend Hermes' collection of playing cards. Printed in some of the labels' most recognizable patterns, they're a fabulous but fun purchase for $80.

And for the adult or child who adores the equestrian lifestyle, you'll make their season brighter than ever when you give them the Hermes picture book, "Paris a encore des chevaux," by Sophie de Seynes. The stunningly illustrated leather-bound book is available in English as well and is titled, "Horses are in Paris;" a gift the recipient will always cherish for $90.

The home selections at Hermes are also classics. Go ultra-high end with one of their Avalon blankets - useable as bedding or a decorative piece - for $1,125. If you prefer to keep it simple, purchase their beautiful scented drawer liners, $45 for a set, or a large, lacquered and leather-trimmed change tray for $225.

Visit their store at 21 Highland Park Village to encounter the world of Hermes. Their holiday hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. through the 23rd and Christmas Eve 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; they'll be closed Saturday and Sunday in observance of Christmas.
