Most celebrities make the leap from rapping to acting, but Joaquin Phoenix wants to do the opposite.
The "Walk The Line" star reportedly took the stage at a Las Vegas nightclub and the whole thing was caught on camera by Casey Affleck (he's married to Joaquin's sister).
After the video got folks close to the star told EW.com it was all part of a "art project" hoax.
Now his rep is telling MTV News it's real saying: "He intends on exploring his musical interests, despite speculative, negative or positive reactions."
His rep also said he's planning to retire from movies to focus on his rap plans.
