Spring fever got you itching to see and be seen?  Check out this trio of brand-new spots for sipping, snacking and socializing.  Do yourself a favor and hit one of these hangs tonight – everyone will be talking about ‘em tomorrow.

The Meddlesome Moth
1621 Oak Lawn Avenue, Dallas

Tongues have been wagging about The Meddlesome Moth for months, and now this Design District gastro-pub from Shannon Wynne of Flying Saucer fame is finally open for business.  After a much-anticipated first visit, we can report that it’s been much ado about…well, a lot.  From the slick décor, complete with stained glass art from the original Dallas Hard Rock Cafe (formerly on McKinney Ave.) , to the mind-boggling beer selection, this bar/resto’s got it going on.

“Chances are if you’ve seen it on a commercial, we won’t serve it,” says The Moth’s website of its bottles and drafts.  Adding up to over 100 unique choices in all, friendly staffers can even point out perfect pairings from Chef Chad Kelley’s extensive menu.  Maybe your cold one will compliment a plate of Five Spice Pork Belly ($9) or Seared Sirloin on a stick with Pumpkin Seed Pesto ($8).  Who knows?  Just sit back and enjoy the ride, and be sure and keep your eyes open for premium people watching while you’re at it.

Sfuzzi Uptown

2602 McKinney Avenue, Suite 220, Dallas

Remember hanging at uber-hot Sfuzzi way back in the day?  Neither do we, but we hear it was the place to be in Dallas in the 80’s and 90’s.  The backstory on the rebirth of this legendary spot is a complicated tale of bankruptcy, revolving doors and intrigue.  We’ll skip the drama and get to the good part, though, which was the soft opening of the new Sfuzzi last week.

Serving only in the evening as of now, this stylish space is sultry and sleek in red and black and dark woods.  Many cozy corners invite cuddling over a glass or bottle from the restaurant’s extensive (and often quite affordable) wine list.  Sfuzzi’s menu tempts with both traditional Italian dishes and soon-to-be faves.  Wood-fired pizzas ($9 and up) include the classic Margherita, the creative Braised Short Rib and Caramelized Onion, and many, many more.  Perfect for sharing, they’d also pair nicely with an Original Frozen Sfuzzi ($7), fizzing with white peach nectar and prosecco.

Media Grill + Bar
Hilton Anatole Hotel, Dallas

Hanging out goes high-tech at the Hilton Anatole’s newest watering hole.  This $5 million, 7,500 square foot venue kicks off an extensive renovation of the hotel’s Atrium II area in style with the latest to keep you connected and entertained as you sip and snack.

Free Wi-Fi, Bluetooth filing capabilities and LED lighting are just the beginning at Media Grill + Bar, with the icing on the cake coming in the form of 26 HD screens.  One of those beauties, a 103-inch plasma behemoth, is in fact the largest commercial flat screen available in the U.S.  Nice.  And while your eyes enjoy the show, indulge your appetite with a selection of salads, sandwiches, entrees and desserts.  Or better yet, pop in after 10:30 when the DJ comes out to play and test your grooves on the “touch-sensitive” dance floor.  See you there!
