Homegrown Festival Takes Over Downtown

If you haven’t been hiding under a rock for the past few months then you've probably heard about the 2nd annual Homegrown Music and Art Festival happening Saturday from 11 a.m. - 10 p.m. at the Main Street Garden in downtown. If you aren’t going to be stuck under a rock tomorrow, then we’ll probably see you there.

Grant Jones and your best friend whether you like it or not Karl Wiggins, are hosting the all day event that has already received over 1,190 RSVPs as of this afternoon. Two stages will showcase performances by thirteen bands with genres ranging from electro rock and folk to hip-hop, Americana, country and instrumental post-rock.

The line-up includes Ishi, This Will Destroy You, School of Seven Bells, The O's, Astronautalis, Neon Indian and much, much more.

After bouncing around to different booths filled with goodies from vendors and works by local artists, quench your thirst with Shiner Bock, margaritas made with Ambhar Tequila and any other favorite libations from the fully stocked bars.

Put a leash on the dog and don’t forget the little ones, the boy scouts assure us there is a Kid’s Korner. Children under ten get in free and adult ticket prices are $15 in advance. Click here to see the schedule of performances and here to warm up with Prekindle's Homegrown playlist.
