A helicopter crashed in Cedar Hill shortly after takeoff on Thursday afternoon.
The chopper crashed near the intersection of American Way and Freedom Way in south Dallas County.
The helicopter, a Brandy B2B, rose up about 20 feet and then came back down, according to reports from the scene.
The pilot was the only person on board and was not injured in the crash.
The FAA is headed to the scene to investigate the cause of the crash.
