October is a busy month at PJ's Party Supply.

"It's 24/7. If I'm not here, I'm at home planning to do something here," said June Schiada, owner.

This year, the Denton store owner has heard her customers rumbling about the economy.
"They look at stuff, and they go, 'Oh, honey. That's $20 or that's $30," said Schiada.

She decided a costume drive could make a difference for kids at local non-profits like the Nelson Children's Center in Denton.

The center provides a therapeutic environment for kids who have a history of serious abuse and neglect.

"The costumes, for these kids, are a symbol of a chance to be a normal kid," says Rebekah Chase, director of Volunteer Services.

In return for donating a gently used costume, customers get a 25 percent off coupon to use on a new one for this year.
"I want to be able to give to my customers for helping me give," says Schiada.

She wants to collect 100 costumes or more to donate, hoping the children who inherit them will realize people really do care about them.
