Fine Dining For Homeless Vets

Local chef adds flavor to job fair

Chef Daniel Winans and the culinary team from The Grill on the Alley will feed homeless veterans at this Friday’s job fair at Fair Park.

At least 300 homeless vets in need of training and employment are expected to show up.

In addition to feeding the former members of the Armed Forces in attendance, corporate and training resources will be provided for those in need.

The Homeless Veterans Services of Dallas, Inc. works with the Veteran’s Association to produce events and provide services to these veterans who have fallen on hard times.

This Friday’s job fair is one such service geared toward putting homeless veterans back to work. It will provide vets seeking employment an opportunity to connect with employers ready to hire.

Securing employment and job assistance is one of the most essential tools, according to the North Texas VA, in the struggle to end homelessness.
