Taking place Saturday from 9 a.m to 4 p.m. at South Side on Lamar, this one-of-a-kind urban bazaar was inspired by curator Brittany Edwards’ shopping adventures in New York and southern California.

But this Flea’s all Texas.

As the editor of DailyCandy Dallas and a contributor to the Dallas Morning News, Edwards’ work gives her a unique glimpse into the world of local artisan crafters, designers, jewelry makers and more.  The Dallas Flea will bring them all together for a day of holiday shopping unlike any trip to a big box or mall.

“There are 50 vendors and all are Texas-based creatives and companies,” Edwards explains.  “We have everything from children's toys to luxury furniture and large-scale oil paintings.”

And the list doesn’t stop there.  Flea vendors will also tempt shoppers with gourmet popcorn, truffles and cupcakes.  Great gift items like candles and stationery are ideal for stuffing stockings or the office Secret Santa exchange.  As an added bonus, Edwards promises “tons of free giveaways” and a “flea” bag for the first 100 shoppers to arrive.

Admission is only $5, and in another untraditional flea market move, most major credit cards will be accepted for vendor purchases.  Trés convenient!

All that being said, you will want to take Grandma’s advice on two things Saturday - wear comfortable shopping shoes and bring a really big tote bag.  You’re gonna need it.
