Exhibit Showcases Cardboard Art

Show runs through April 30, 2012

Instead of letting it hit the recycle bin, artists featured in a newly installed exhibit in the lobby of One Arts Plaza use cardboard to create unique pieces of art.

The sneakers, speakers, and other art pieces are all recycled or upcycled regular cardboard that most consumers see everyday.

“Cardboard was invented 195 years ago and is one of the most versatile and durable mediums for innovation today,”  says Stephanie Hunt, founder of the Hunt Institute for Engineering and Humanity.

The Institute is hosting Engineering and Humanity Week from April 15-20 and holding a cardboard design competition to show how a simple piece of cardboard can be adapted.

The installed exhibit will continue through April 30 in the lobby of One Arts Plaza.
