Yet Another Historic Highland Park Home Designed by Iconic Architect O'Neil Ford Set for Demolition

A historic Highland Park home that recently sold at auction for close to $5 million is about to be erased. The JR Demolition-branded excavator parked on the front lawn Friday was the tip-off. The so-called Penson House on Armstrong Ave., designed in 1954 by legendary Texas architect O'Neil Ford, is slated to be demolished in coming days. Highland Park building officials say they're just waiting for word that Atmos Energy has capped the gas."As soon as we get confirmation that it's been disconnected, that's when the permit can be issued," said Building Inspection manager Kirk Smith.
