Would-be Robbers Target Dallas Officer But Flee Empty-handed, Police Say

Two men attempted to rob an off-duty Dallas police officer at gunpoint Tuesday evening in Buckner Terrace, police said. The officer and a witness were getting out of a vehicle at the officer's home in the 7100 block of Canyon Ridge Drive, near North Jim Miller Road, when two males approached the officer and demanded money at gunpoint, police said. At some point during the attempted robbery, the suspects learned the person they were trying to rob is an officer and fled without taking anything, police said.
