Woman Injured as Elevator Car Plunges at Downtown Dallas Skyscraper

A woman was injured Wednesday morning when an elevator car she was in fell in a downtown Dallas skyscraper. Around 9:20 a.m., Dallas Fire-Rescue responded to a report of an elevator emergency at Bank of America Plaza in the 900 block of Main Street. Firefighters found that an elevator car in the building had fallen before coming to an abrupt stop.The elevator car was brought up to an accessible level near the 70th floor and the woman inside was freed from it.The woman, who was the car's only occupant, was hospitalized with injuries that officials said weren't life-threatening.
