Woman Arrested in Greenville Child's Shooting Death

A 7-year-old child is dead and two people are in custody in the aftermath of a shooting that took place Thursday afternoon in Greenville, KXAS-TV (NBC5) reported.Police arrived at a home in the 4000 block of Pickett Street in Greenville but found nothing, the station reported. Then they were told that a child had been taken to a Hunt Regional Medical Center with a gunshot wound.The child died later, NBC5 reported.Around 3 a.m. Friday, McKinney police officers received an alert from Greenville officers to be on the lookout for a woman who might have been involved in the shootout, KTVT-TV (Channel 11) reported.McKinney officers then found the suspect's car in a drugstore parking lot and then gave chase when the car fled into Frisco and was cornered at a dead-end street, NBC5 reported.The driver, 26-year-old Brooke Craig, was arrested along with a passenger, Cameron Castillo, who was charged with a parole violation.It is unclear what charges Craig faces in regard to the shooting.  Continue reading...
