Woman, 19, Shot in the Head in Mesquite Road-rage Incident

A 19-year-old woman was shot in the head early Monday while driving on Interstate 30 near the LBJ Freeway in Mesquite.The shooting, which police believe was a road-rage incident, took place around 1:15 a.m. Lt. Brian Parrish, a Mesquite police spokesman, told KXAS-TV (NBC5) that the woman was taken to a hospital with injuries that weren't life threatening. At least one gunshot was fired from a dark-colored four-door sedan, Parrish said. Police continue to investigate the incident.The woman's name has not been released.The description of the suspect vehicle is similar to a car involved in a road-rage shooting in Arlington on Sunday night, but police have not said whether the incidents may be related.
