Why a City Council Member Decided Against Running for Dallas Mayor

After thinking about running for mayor for "quite a while," City Council member Adam McGough announced Tuesday that he would instead seek a third term as Lake Highlands’ and far northeast Dallas’ representative.McGough, who worked for Mayor Mike Rawlings before he was elected to council, said he ultimately decided he has been most effective "working with small groups of people on big targets, big items for our community."Serving as mayor, he said in an interview, "is much more surface-level relationships, pushing big ideas but with less real interaction and moving the needle forward."  Continue reading...
