While Eyes Have Been on April the Giraffe, Dallas Zoo's Been Having a Baby Boom

Since the Animal Adventure Park began live-streaming April the giraffe's impending birth on Feb. 10, 35 animals have been born or hatched at the Dallas Zoo through Thursday.The animals spanned 14 different species, and there's a lot of birds and snakes.Bolasie, the big-eared Eastern bongo, was born Feb. 17 to mom Hidaya. She's the first bongo to be born at the zoo since 2015.Chispa the lesser anteater gave birth Feb. 25 to the zoo's first tamandua baby named Corajosa, or Cora for short. Tamandua births are rare in human care, and only three babies survived last year in zoos accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums, the zoo said.  Continue reading...
