What We Know About the Missing Richardson 3-year-old Punished for Not Drinking Milk

Although Richardson police continue to search for a missing preschooler who was put outside as punishment early Saturday morning, officials on Monday discontinued the Amber Alert that had been issued in her disappearance. Police cited a lack of tips in the decision to end the alert. The investigation into Sherin Mathews' disappearance continued into Monday evening. Here's where things stand:Father out of jailSherin's father, Wesley Mathews, who was charged Saturday evening with abandoning or endangering a child late Sunday posted $250,000 bond and was released from jail. Mathews, 37, told police he put his 3-year-old daughter outside near an alley where coyotes had been spotted before to punish her after she wouldn't drink her milk, according to the arrest warrant affidavit.   Continue reading...
