If you are digging yourself into a deep hole, the best advice generally is to stop digging.Dallas Park and Recreation board member Marlon Rollins should hand in the shovel. He needs to quit the carousel of incomplete and misleading explanations for why he voted in Tarrant County while claiming residency in Dallas and simply tell the truth. Living in Dallas is a requirement for the board that oversees the city's park department.Rollins, an appointee of Dallas City Councilman Casey Thomas, isn't the first, nor is he likely to be the last, public official to play fast and loose with residency requirements and voting laws. Nearly every election cycle, the Dallas Morning News editorial board deals with a candidate whose recent move into a district to run for office straddles the qualification line. But seldom have we heard as many excuses as Rollins is offering for how he came to vote in another county. The most ludicrous?
