The U.S. attorney for the Northern District of Texas said prosecutors will use federal gun laws to crack down on domestic violence.In an initiative announced Wednesday, the federal office is partnering with district attorneys in Dallas and other counties to prosecute abusers under federal laws that prohibit people convicted of domestic violence or the subject of protective orders from having guns.“In the Northern District of Texas, we will prosecute you,” U.S. Attorney Erin Nealy Cox said at a news conference Wednesday morning. “And upon conviction, the penalties will be stiff, swift and serious.” Continue reading...
