We Know How to Solve Dallas' Homeless Crisis, But Do We Have the Will?

Larry collapsed and died on the sidewalk on Coombs Street under Interstate 45 on Oct. 2.I know because an encampment dweller came up to me on my recent visit and exclaimed that Larry had died, "Right there!" pointing to the unremarkable concrete.Larry had cancer and a heart condition. He was 63 years old.On many occasions since the original Coombs homeless camp closed in 2016, I witnessed Larry's nephew, Chuck, also homeless, cleaning out his ailing uncle's tent, airing out blankets and refastening tarps."He was staying at a shelter last week.
