Vandals Deface Buildings in East Arlington With Swastikas and Racial Slurs

Police are investigating after two buildings in East Arlington were defaced with hate speech early Tuesday morning, officials said.The first vandalism call came in about 3 a.m. and involved an old CVS building in the 1800 block of East Arkansas Lane, Arlington police spokesman Jesse Minton said. The second report, involving a car wash a block away, came about 7:45 a.m.Both buildings had swastikas and racial slurs on them, Minton said."We will not tolerate hate crimes," Arlington Police Chief Will Johnson said in a tweet Tuesday morning. "We will vigorously investigate & seek criminal prosecution. Arlington stands for the protection of all people."Minton said the crimes don't appear to be connected to any group or activity police know of, nor do they seem to be targeting any specific community near those buildings.
