A lecturer at the University of Texas at Arlington who has been a visible figure at local political protests is being criticized for recent posts on social media that seem to welcome violence against prominent Republican politicians, including the president.Charles Hermes, who teaches philosophy and logic, posted the statements on Facebook last month, the Arlington Voice reported. They have since been removed from public view.Though the posts have been denounced by some, Hermes said the university supports his right to political expression.
