Uptown Rape Suspect Linked by DNA to West Village Assault From 2017, Dallas Police Say

A 34-year-old man accused in the aggravated sexual assault of a woman in an Uptown parking garage last week also has been linked to a similar attack that happened in 2017 in the West Village, Dallas police say.Dralon Patterson has been in the Dallas County Jail since his arrest Feb. 1, the day after a woman was raped in the 2700 block of Howell Street. He is being held on $250,000 bond in the attack and on $3,500 bond in an evading arrest charge.DNA evidence links him to the 2017 assault, police said, but he has not yet been formally charged in that case.The previous incident occurred Nov. 19, 2017, when a 26-year-old woman walking in the 3100 block of Lemmon Avenue was attacked after she got into her car, police said.Detectives are currently preparing an arrest warrant to charge Patterson in that case, police said.  Continue reading...
