UIL's Concussion Registry Is a Step in Right Direction But Should Go Even Further

At last, Texas will launch a registry to better track concussions among young athletes to try to figure out ways to prevent them.The University Interscholastic League, the state's governing body for public school sports, and UT Southwestern Medical Center's O'Donnell Brain Institute will ask its 1,400 member schools to report all head injuries to a central database starting this school year.This is a step in the right direction for a state that currently uses only a sampling of schools to track data.  Continue reading...
