Two Dallas-Fort Worth Employers to Cut 275 Jobs in October

A Frisco outsourcing company and a Dallas logistics firm are laying off a combined 275 workers, according to notices filed with the Texas Workforce commission.The bulk of the layoffs will occur when Ascenda USA Inc. closes its 24-7 Intouch office on Parkwood Boulevard in Frisco, displacing 200 workers on Oct. 15. In a letter to the state, 24-7 Intouch expects the job cuts to be permanent, according to Deanne Harrison, the company's senior vice president for people and process improvement. Her letter also said the company does not recognize bumping rights based on seniority for the people being let go.The other 75 jobs are being eliminated at DSC Logistics Inc. on Mountain Creek Parkway in Dallas. Maria Motev, the company's senior director and managing counsel, cited a loss of business in her letter to the state.The DSC Logistics job cuts also are permanent and will take place by Oct. 8.  Continue reading...
