Truck Stop Robbery Suspects Lead Midlothian, Cedar Hill Police on Chase

Three suspects are in custody after leading Midlothian and Cedar Hill police on a chase after robbing a truck stop in Ellis County on Wednesday morning.It happened around 3 a.m. at the Love's Travel Stop in the 1500 block of West Main Street in Midlothian. According to police, a suspect walked into the store, displayed a handgun and took cash from the register.He then left the store and got into a maroon Chrysler with two others inside and fled north on U.S. Highway 67 toward Cedar Hill. Midlothian police gave chase and watched as the car briefly pulled over and someone threw something out of it before the car took off again.The discarded object turned out to be a stolen Glock 23 handgun, police said.Midlothian officers followed the car into Cedar Hill, where it took the Belt Line Road exit and turned into a shopping center parking lot in the 300 block of Highway 67. The car stopped, and Midlothian and Cedar Hill officers arrested the three without incident, police said.Two men and one woman are in the Midlothian city jail. The driver faces a charge of evading arrest with a vehicle, while the other man is being held on aggravated robbery charges. The woman in the car has been charged with public intoxication.Their names were not released.
