Trash Fire Extinguished at Vacant Downtown Dallas High-rise

Firefighters extinguished a small trash fire in a vacant high-rise building in downtown Dallas on Tuesday evening. Dallas Fire-Rescue responded about 5 p.m. to a 911 call for a fire at the building in the 500 block of North Ervay Street, spokesman Jason Evans said. The caller told dispatch that smoke and flames were coming from the building's sixth floor, where firefighters later found a trash fire. They quickly contained and put out the fire, Evans said. No injuries were reported. Officials have not determined how the fire started. The building has been undergoing a renovation, he said.   Continue reading...
