Townview Student Was Robbed a Day After 2 Arrested in Holdups Near DISD Schools

A day after Dallas police arrested two dropouts accused in a string of robberies targeting DISD students, another teen was mugged at gunpoint — just as classes were dismissed for spring break.Parents and students at Yvonne A. Ewell Townview Center learned Monday about another armed robbery on March 8, before the weeklong break, officials said. A student from Townview was forced to hand over a backpack but was unharmed by the gunman, the district said in a letter obtained by KXAS-TV (NBC5). It's unclear whether the latest robbery happened on campus or nearby."We understand this is a growing concern, and we need your help to ensure everyone remains safe," school officials said, urging students to hide their phones and not to walk alone.
