Three Dead After Small Plane Crashes Near Laredo Airport

Three are dead after a small plane crashed while attempting to land at Laredo International Airport Thursday morning.The pilot of the Piper PA-31P had reported smoke coming from an engine and was trying to return to the airfield when it went down in a grassy area about 50 yards from commercial buildings nearby, KXAS-TV (NBC5) reported.The three unidentified people aboard the plane were all killed. The aircraft is registered to a resident of Bruni, east of Laredo, the station reported.A Laredo police spokesman said the airport had been closed to all commercial and cargo air traffic.  Continue reading...
