Thomas Poole, 84, Retired Dallas Police Officer Had a Passion for Building and Driving Hot Rods

Thomas Paul Poole never lost his passion for the camaraderie he felt as a Dallas police officer and the joy he found in tinkering and driving fast cars and motorcycles.A patrolman during his 21 years with Dallas Police Department, he maintained his need for speed in retirement by building hot rods until he was sidelined by dementia two-and-a-half years ago.Poole, 87, died Monday of pneumonia at a Denison memory care facility.Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Friday at Bratcher Funeral Home in Denison.
