This Texas Mom and Sleeping Baby Became the Faces of Hurricane Harvey — Now What?

HOUSTON — In the SWAT officer's arms, Cathy Pham cradled her sleeping baby and wondered where they'd go next in their flooded city. She had no idea that, at that moment, in her Costco boots and messy bun, she was about to become an iconic image of hope for America.Two photojournalists, with The Dallas Morning News and The Associated Press, stood on the highway nearby, snapping away. They asked her name. She provided it, then got back to figuring out what she and her husband should do, now that they were newly homeless. That was around 1 p.m. on Aug. 27.
