This North Texas City Will Be Home to One of Fuzzy's Taco Shop's 20 New Locations

Taco ‘bout a growth spurt.Fort Worth-based Fuzzy’s Taco Shop is planning to open 20 new locations this year, including one on State Highway 161 in Grand Prairie. The chain is also expanding in Colorado, Florida, Kansas, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina and Georgia.The new locations will be operated by franchisees -- people doing business under Fuzzy’s trademark and business model.“Traditionally, our approach to growth has been a little bit backwards,” Fuzzy’s president Mel Knight said in a statement. “We haven't really focused on marketing our franchise opportunity; the growth we've experienced has all been organic, which is a great place to be.”In 2016, Atlanta-based NRD Capital bought a 70% stake in Fuzzy’s. The private equity firm’s franchise-centric approach has seen Fuzzy’s add 60 locations since the takeover.
