WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump and White House surrogates were in damage control on Monday as protests continued over his executive order temporarily banning citizens from seven Muslim-majority countries into the United States.Trump’s executive order, issued late last week, prompted spontaneous protests, strikes and a flurry of legal actions over the weekend as scores of unsuspecting travelers were detained and questioned.Meanwhile, Trump sought to change the news cycle by bumping up the date of his Supreme Court nomination announcement to Tuesday night.
