Thief Hid Kitten in His Jacket After Taking It From Arlington Pet Store, Police Say

Arlington police are on the prowl for a man who stole a kitten from a pet store this month.Police say the catnapper went into the Petco in the 4000 block of West Green Oaks Boulevard, near West Pleasant Ridge Road, around 5:45 p.m. Jan. 10 and talked to an employee about adopting a kitten.After the employee stepped away, the man forced open a cage, grabbed a 6-month-old kitten named Gayle and hid her in his jacket."She probably didn't even have time to cry for help," officer Steven Bartolotta, a police spokesman, told KTVT-TV (Channel 11).
