There Goes the Neighborhood, for Better Or Worse, as Golf Changes the Course of Southern Dallas

It's a Saturday night, a few days before the Byron Nelson golf tournament tees off, and a mile and a half down the road from the Trinity Forest Golf Club. There's a dice game going in one of the bays of the car wash at Jim Miller Road and Great Trinity Forest Way. It's quite the scene here on this warm, windy evening, tucked between the BZ convenience store and the Classic Inn. The younger crowd, blaring hip-hop at 11, wash their cars, shoot the breeze, smoke their dope, collect their cash. The older guys hang back, drinking beer, eating hot wings and smoking cigarettes in the lot behind the wash, taking in what they call "the show."  Continue reading...
