The Dallas Morning News Recommends Omar Narvaez for Dallas City Council, District 6

Omar Narvaez exceeded our expectations during his first term on the Dallas City Council representing District 6. He reached out to community groups, and proactively encouraged economic development and residential revitalization across the district that includes West Dallas, the Design and Asia Trade districts, and the Bachman Lake area.For this reason, Narvaez, 45, deserves another two-year term over former Mayor Pro Tem Monica Alonzo, and auto parts shop worker Tony Carrillo, both of whom he defeated for this seat two years ago.Narvaez’s strength is working with constituents toward solutions for a growing and changing district. Narvaez often votes with the council’s progressives, but we are confident he is also interested in seeking common ground in favor of compromise and comity over absolute allegiance to a voting bloc that has too often taken his support as a given.  Continue reading...
