The Dallas Morning News Recommends Karon Flewellen for Dallas City Council, District 4

Dallas council district 4 needs to break with old-style, business-as-usual politics that have worked to the detriment of residents. For this reason, we recommend first-time office-seeker Karon Flewellen over incumbent Carolyn King Arnold and three other candidates.Electing Flewellen would signal that district residents are prepared to jettison the political baggage that accompanied the last two people to represent this district. Arnold was generally ineffective and Dwaine Caraway pleaded guilty to federal corruption charges and resigned from his City Council seat last year.We are taking a flier on Flewellen, who will have a steep learning curve and has a few spots in her background, including a 2014 bankruptcy following a medical emergency and a separate car accident that prevented her from earning an income for several months.
