Allen City Council incumbent Baine Brooks brings experience and business smarts to his Place 6 seat. Voters should elect him to a third full turn to tap that knowledge as the city contemplates future development and how to maintain the quality of life that drew residents to the city in the first place.Brooks, a 53-year-old restaurant owner, has heard residents’ concerns about projects such as the cricket stadium complex proposal that has sparked outcry over potential traffic and noise. He’s against a facility with as many as 18,000 seats and wants neighbors to have input on smaller configurations.It fits Brooks’ overall approach to development: He wants the city to slow down on future projects as available land dwindles.
