The Dallas Morning News Recommends Adam Bazaldua in the Dallas City Council Runoff for District 7

When the incumbent in a nine-candidate race mustered just a fourth-place finish, it was clear that residents in Dallas City Council District 7 were ready for a change in leadership at City Hall.We were happy to see voters send ineffective and combative incumbent Kevin Felder packing. This district, which encompasses some of southern and eastern Dallas’ most storied neighborhoods, deserves a representative with fresh ideas to maximize the vast potential there.We believe Adam Bazaldua, 32, is the best choice to move this district forward in the runoff against Tiffinni Young, who preceded Felder in the council seat.Bazaldua, 32, has already represented the area in volunteer roles, as vice chair of the Davis Garden TIF board, as a member of Police Chief U. Renee Hall’s Citizens Task Force and as crime watch chair for his homeowners association, among other efforts.Bazaldua, a teacher at Skyline High School, has shown commitment to building up District 7 by fighting for good things and fighting against bad things, like concrete batch plants in an area that has had plenty of pollution.  Continue reading...
