The Colony's Grandscape Development Hires Firm That Worked on Klyde Warren Park

One of the consultants on downtown Dallas' hugely successful Klyde Warren Park has been hired to work on a major project in the 'burbs.Grandscape - the 400-acre mixed-use project on State Highway 121 in The Colony - has hired Biederman Redevelopment Ventures to coordinate events and outdoor spaces in the development.Grandscape includes the Nebraska Furniture Mart and owned by billionaire Warren Buffet's Berkshire Hathaway Co."Our goal is for the outdoor experience in Grandscape's parks to be as exciting and dynamic as the indoor shopping experience that brings people from hundreds of miles away to Nebraska Furniture Mart," Dan Biederman, president of BRV, said in a statement. "Klyde Warren Park has taught us how to create successful public spaces in Dallas, and we're going to build and expand on the programming we created there."Grandscape next year plans to open its first-phase retai and restaurant complex, public plazas and parks and a performance stage and lawn.The development site is near the Nebraska Furniture Mart which opened in 2015."At Grandscape our aim is to not only have destination tenants, but also to create an environment where people want to spend time with their friends and family," Jeff Lind, president of Grandscape, said.New York-based BRV has worked on urban redevelopment and management projects in 30 states.Its credits include New York's Bryant Park, Levy Park in Houston and Hudson Yards in Manhattan.  Continue reading...
