Texas Woman Makes Deal to Avoid Death Penalty for Fatally Shooting 2 Young Daughters

An East Texas woman will spend the rest of her life in prison after pleading guilty to killing her two young daughters in 2017.Sarah Nicole Henderson, 31, agreed to a plea deal Wednesday on two counts of capital murder in exchange for prosecutors dropping the death penalty, KETK-TV reported, and a judge sentenced her to life without the possibility of parole.Two other charges, attempted murder and assault of a public servant, were dismissed, court records show.Henderson has been in custody at the Henderson County jail since her arrest on Nov. 2, 2017.Authorities were initially called to her home in Mabank, about 50 miles southeast of Dallas, around 11:30 p.m. the previous night for a report of a possibly suicidal woman, but Henderson and her husband, Jacob Henderson, told deputies that everything was fine.  Continue reading...
