Texas Woman Lived With Her Mother's Skeletal Remains for 3 Years, Police Say

A Texas woman is facing charges after police say she lived with her mother's skeletal remains in her home for about three years.Delissa Crayton, 47, was arrested Wednesday after an investigation by the Seguin Police Department and the Texas Rangers, police said.Investigators said they believe Crayton's mother, Jacqueline Crayton, fell sometime during 2016. The fall wasn't life-threatening, but Delissa Crayton "failed to provide adequate assistance" to her mother, police said. Authorities believe Jacqueline Crayton, who would have been 71 at the time, died lying on the floor within a few days of the fall.Seguin police found the skeletal remains on July 7, after they received a tip stemming from a Child Protective Services investigation, the San Antonio Express-News reported.
