Texas to Trump: Don't Allow NAFTA Talks to Disassemble the Most Successful Trade Alliance in History

The Trump Administration on Wednesday is expected to begin the first round of talks with Canada and Mexico on revised terms of the historic North American Free Trade Agreement. But already it's up against the clock and politics. The administration last month finally released its wish list for what it wants in the new agreement, but the president, after promising a robust renegotiation, hasn't put his muscle into the process. Nor has Congress. Trump has been particularly confusing, promising tweaks to the agreement while also threatening to tear up what he has called "the single worst trade deal ever approved in this country."
