Texas Teacher Set Up His Laptop's Screen Saver to Show Porn During Class, Authorities Say

An East Texas high-school teacher was arrested this week after authorities say his laptop displayed pornographic images during class.Two students at Chapel Hill High School in Tyler went to a school resource officer on March 1 and showed her videos taken during their English class. In the video, according to an arrest-warrant affidavit, William Perkins was teaching while sexually explicit images were visible on a laptop on his desk.The officer seized the computer as evidence, noting that Perkins tried to take it away from her, according to the affidavit.Smith County deputies searched the computer and found "a large amount of pornography," the affidavit says, including images matching those taken in the students' videos.A deputy wrote in the affidavit that it appeared that the screen saver on Perkins' laptop had been set up to display photos from the computer, which in this case were pornographic.  Continue reading...
