Texas Secretary of State Admits Mistakes in Checks of Citizenship, Apologizes to Senators

AUSTIN -- Embattled interim Texas Secretary of State David Whitley, in a letter of apology to senators on Wednesday, admitted his office made errors as it rolled out a push to question the citizenship and eligibility of tens of thousands of Texas voters.
