Texas Lawyer Sues Apple Over FaceTime Bug That Allegedly Allowed Eavesdropping on Testimony

A Houston attorney is suing Apple over a bug discovered this week that allowed users to call another iPhone user with the FaceTime app and immediately listen through their microphone unknowingly.The attorney, Larry Williams II, claims the bug was triggered on his phone allowing his sworn testimony in a client deposition to be eavesdropped on. The lawsuit, first reported by Bloomberg, was filed in Harris County District Court and lists Apple as the defendant.The lawsuit alleges Williams lost the ability to earn a living and seeks unspecified damages for negligence, fraudulent misrepresentation, failure to warn consumers and breach of warranty.  Continue reading...
