Texas Lawmaker Blames Black Lives Matter ‘bullies' for Canceled Speech at Houston College

AUSTIN — Texas Southern University canceled an appearance Monday by a Republican lawmaker after protesters showed up to oppose the event.TSU said the speech was canceled because "it was not a registered university student organization event." Rep. Briscoe Cain, R-Deer Park, said Black Lives Matter protesters bullied the historically black university into calling it off.In a video of the event posted to Twitter by KHOU reporter Janelle Bludau, Cain is seen standing behind a classroom podium as protesters holding placards and signs chant, "When a racist comes to town, shut it down!" and, "No hate anywhere!
