Texas Judge Receives Public Warning for Telling Jurors God Wanted Them to Declare Sex-trafficking Suspect Innocent

A San Antonio-area district judge has been disciplined a little over a year after telling a jury that God instructed him to encourage them to return a not-guilty verdict against a suspect in a sex-trafficking case.The Texas Commission on Judicial Conduct didn't suspend Judge Jack Robison, instead issuing a public warning to him on Feb. 20 related to a trial in January in which he urged a jury to reconsider a guilty verdict against Gloria Romero Perez."When God tells me I gotta do something, I gotta do it," he said to the jurors.The jury didn't listen and convicted Perez on charges of continuous sex trafficking and the sale or purchase of a child.
