Texas' Historic Low Unemployment Rises for First Time in Months as Job Growth Continues

Texas job growth continued in January adding 15,400 jobs while statewide unemployment rose slightly for the first time in months to 3.8 percent, according to the latest data from the Texas Workforce Commission.Until January 2019, unemployment in Texas had held at a historic low for five consecutive months.January also marked the 105th consecutive month of job growth for Texas. Year over year the state added 292,000 jobs since last January growing at 2.4 percent annually.Month over month job growth was the strongest in the Professional and Business Services industry which added 8,800 jobs.
